After 4 weeks, Susan and I were still messaging each other. We finally had the chance to meet when I was on a course. The course location was about half way between us and we arranged that we would meet for a drink. I finished the course and drove to the pub where she had arranged we would meet. My course finished later than expected so Susan was waiting for me in the car park.
I parked up and sent her a message to say I was there. The course involved some outdoor activities and I was still dressed in the old clothes we were advised to wear. Not the best impression to make for a first meeting but I hadn’t had the time to change, Susan got out of her car and walked to me with a big smile on her face. She was a bit shorter than I expected and was wearing a long dress. She had come straight from work so was in her smart work attire in contrast to me. We had a hug and said nervous hellos.
In the pub, we got a drink and sat and chatted for an hour. Susan was very easy to talk to and we got on very well. She was married and was using the excuse of going to the gym on her way home to meet me. Once the hour was up, we went back to her car and had another hug and kissed. To keep up the appearance of having been to the gym, Susan changed into her gym kit in her car. I stood by the car keeping a look out for anyone coming by. No, it wasn’t to see Susan getting changed…
Once Susan left, I went back to the pub to have something to eat before going back to my course hotel.
Since then, Susan and I have become friends. We have met a number of times for meals and drinks but nothing else. We both agreed that our friendship means more than just casual sex. And the 18 year age gap between us was too much for her to consider a relationship with me. About 6 months after we had first made contact, Susan took herself off the site and cut all ties with those she had met apart from me and 1 other man. A year after making contact with Susan, she is now divorced and starting a new life with that other man. Susan and I still message each other and occasionally meet for a chat. I count myself luck to be considered a friend by her.
