"a Long Way From Home...."

I was away with work staying in a hotel overseas. I had logged onto the web site several times using a feature to show if any other members of the site were nearby. I was still suffering from jet lag and disturbed sleep even though I had been there for a week at this time. It was just after midnight when I logged on and checked to see if there was anyone near again. Previously there hadn’t but tonight, a lady was showing as being about 10 miles away. I looked at her profile and had to laugh as she was from about 50 miles from me in the UK, yet here she as only 10 miles away from where I was at the time and some 3,500 miles from home.

I sent her a message saying you’re a long way from home. She replied almost instantly saying she was there with work. I replied that I was the same. We then exchanged messages for the next hour. She was suffering with jet lag and couldn’t sleep either.

Over the next 4 days we exchanged a lot of messages via the site and seemed to be getting on well. She returned to the UK while I stayed away for another 5 days. Susan and I continued to message each other after I returned home. The messages were frequent and we carried on getting to know each. I suggested we try and arrange a meet. Susan said she would like that but our diaries just didn’t seem to coincide. Susan said she thought it would be a problem with me living 50 miles from her as she wanted to meet someone regularly. I assured her that I was quite happy to travel to her but my work meant I travelled away a lot and might not be able to meet every week.
