Dec Continued
A couple of days before Christmas and I was sent away again for the day. No issues. On Boxing Day, I started to get a cough and sore throat. I really didn’t think anything of it as it felt like a cold rather than anything else. On New Year’s eve, I started to get a really awful taste in my mouth. I booked a test for the morning.

Jan – Feb - Mar
New Year, new lockdown restrictions. Had the test and it took till the early hours of the 3rd of Jan to come back. Positive! Now in isolation for 10 days. It was funny but as soon as I had the diagnosis, all the symptoms fell into place. Initially I didn’t feel too bad. Then it hit me hard. I couldn’t eat anything for a week. Anything I did came straight back up. A cracking diet as I lost over 5kgs but I would not recommend it. I was lucky enough not to need to be admitted to hospital for treatment. I managed to get a DVT through the covid and had to have 3 months on blood thinners. The 3 months passed in a bit of a blur. I felt like it was 2 days forward then 1 day back in the recovery process. The first vaccine knocked me back big time and I was wiped out for over 2 days.

To show how bad I was feeling, I didn’t feel like having a wank for a month. Then decided to see how long I could go without. In October, I’d lasted 50 days. This time I lasted 92 days before giving in. Also didn’t have any alcohol for 2 1/2 months.
