Bugger - another national lockdown. That’s coffee with Diane off then. Heard this month that the club in the countryside will not be reopening as a planning application has been submitted to build houses on the site by the owners. Can’t say I am surprised. Disappointed but not surprised. Must admit I am starting to feel the effects of the lockdown. Feeling like I have just been existing not living for the last few months. Also beginning to think I am drinking too much and will have to cut down. Nothing excessive or anything like that just a couple of glasses on too many nights in a row. Just after a heavy weekend over Remembrance, (I am ex-Forces and it is always a heavy weekend over Remembrance) I decided to go till Christmas without a drink. That lasted for …..3 days! Getting better as lasted 4 days after that.

Lockdown part 2 ends to be replaced by something that was just the same as Lockdown part 2 but now called Tiers. At least the gym is open again. I had another trip overseas with work. This time, I had to have a Covid test which was negative. Not sure if that means I failed or passed the test. The trip took 24 hours to get to the destination. Once there, I was treated like a pariah. That location has no Covid and anyone going there goes into strict quarantine for 2 weeks to ensure the places stays that way. I was only there for a night so was put into a special quarantine accommodation. Couldn’t even get a tea from people I knew as I might infect the mug. That Next day it was another 24 hours to get back home.
A week later and I get a message that someone has tested positive on the outbound flight which means I have to go and get tested. Marvellous….just marvellous. Had a test whihc was negative but isolation continues.
