It was a long time since we had last met. I sent them a message saying hello and hoping they were both well. Pete replied and after a few messages back and forth, we arranged to meet on a Wednesday evening. On the day, I showered, changed and was just about to leave when the phone pinged as a messaged arrived. It was Pete saying that Jane was not well and could we postpone. I replied saying yes not a problem and hoped Jane would be better before too long. Pete said he hoped so too as they were both looking forward to meeting me again. We ended by Pete saying they wanted to rearrange soon and would be in contact. A bit disappointing but these things happen.
