After our first meeting, Diane and I managed to arrange another meet the following week. We planned on meeting at a local club on a Sat night this time. Diane said she wouldn’t be able to confirm if she could make it or not until the Sat. I didn’t actually hear from her and took a gamble that she was going. I knew that Lorraine and Andy were going so even if Diane didn’t make it, I was hoping to have some fun. I rang to book a place but....I had left it too late and they were fully booked!
Cursing a bit, I went to make a cup of tea while I thought what to do. In that time, I had 3 missed calls on my mobile. They were all from the club. I rang them back to be told they had a cancellation and I could have place after all.
I got to the town where the club was and drove around a bit waiting to see if I would get a message from Diane to say she was on her way. That way we could go in together. Round the corner from the club, I saw a couple walking along the pavement away from the club, towards a pub. My eyes almost leapt out when I saw her lift her skirt and flash her stocking tops as I drove past. Not at me but to her partner. That was it, I drove round the corner, did a U-turn and drove slowly past them again. She was still lifting her skirt but it was so she could adjust her stockings rather than flashing at anyone. I did another U-turn and drove past them again and got another view of her shapely stocking clad legs. They had just arrived at the pub so I went on to the club.
I was one of the first to arrive which surprised me as I had been told they were going to be full that night. I had been there about 30 minutes before more people started to arrive. Lorraine and Andy came in and said hello. I kept looking at the door hoping for Diane to arrive.
Lorraine took a man into one of the private rooms while I had a chat with Andy. We both agreed there was a strange atmosphere in the club. It had been billed as a greedy girl’s night. But there was very little going on. There was an air of expectation but no one seemed to want to start. There had been some changes to the layout of the club and I don’t think this helped. I had a look in the dark room where Lorraine and I had played before. This had been changed and now had a small light in it. Obviously this changed the dark room to a dimly lit room.
The couple that I had seen in the street arrived a couple of hours after I had seen them go into the pub. The lady had certainly made use of her time in the pub and was having serious difficulty walking in a straight line.
By now, I had realised that Diane wasn’t going to make it and as it was getting on for 1am, I called it a night and left. Yes I was disappointed that Diane hadn’t made it but she had explained her personal situation and I understood why she couldn’t make it. It was also a shame that the club didn’t live up to it’s promise.

That’s a shame things didn’t turn out as planed but then do they ever, you meet this great lady, by the sound of it, for coffee and ended up having a great time in a club then go to meet her in a club and end up with nothing life can be so funny sometimes can’t it.
