Ab Fabs / Kestrels - First Visit

I recently changed jobs and get to go to the South East area about once a month. This means that I get to pass Ab Fabs on the way. I had heard a lot about Ab Fabs and had long wanted to pay a visit but had never had the chance. I looked the club up online and was disappointed to see that it was only open in the evenings. A bit more research and I found another club that I had heard mentioned; Kestrels. This was in the same area as Ab Fabs but was open during the day. It took me a couple of days to realise that Ab Fabs and Kestrels were one and the same! Kestrels during the day Ab Fabs in the evening.

One afternoon, I was in the area and took the opportunity to visit. I programmed the SatNav with the address and pulled up into their car park. I found my way to the reception to be told that the swimming pool was closed due to maintenance. I paid a reduced entrance fee and was taken on a tour of the club.

I got undressed, showered and went to sit in the Jacuzzi. I chatted to a couple of men. Had a wander about, Another sit in the Jacuzzi, wander about. There were 2 couples there but they were only playing with their own “partners”. They left in time for the school run, leaving about 5 men there. I sat in the Jacuzzi for a bit longer before realising that I was the only person left. As there was nothing else going on and I was alone, I got dressed and went home.

I did like the facilities and place but was disappointed that the swimming pool had been closed. I was told that it would be open the following week. I wasn’t sure when I would able to get there again as it was now quite close to Christmas. I am looking forward to the next visit when I am sure there will be more people as some were put off by the pool being closed.

Good grief - just realised I have moved into 3rd position with this entry in the blog list for the number of entries. This is my 98th entry in just under 2 years - there are plenty more to come but now that I am (was as this is where I started to write up my adventures) writing in "real" time some of the entries won't be as exciting as others...
