One Monday morning, I was looking online at the site when I saw a status update saying my favourite club had been suddenly closed……NO!!!!!! They had been in a long running planning argument, had lost some court cases and finally been forced to close. Reading through the forum posts, it was obvious that the closure had taken everyone by surprise. Well the suddenness of the closure as it was always on the card that they would be forced to close.
I had had some great times there and will miss the club and people I had got to know over the years that I had been going. There is nowhere else with the same facilities in the location to match the club. The owners are promising to reopen in a new venue with similar facilities but that is still some way off in the future.
This was in Jan 2018 (yes I am still far behind in publishing the entries) and there is a new club venue but still no opening date as yet.
