54. SCOTLAND - GENERAL

A: Aberdeen, Balmedie Beach - "Head South out of town, though Tullos, towards Cove Bay and turn left for Altens Industrial Estate. You pass Amerada Hess on the left. Continue down the hill to a 'T' junction. Turn left here and drive on until you come to Doonies Model Farm. Drive over the railway bridge near the farm to a track which leads around the fields. The piece of track immediately over the bridge and behind the embankment is sometimes used by hetero couples. Voyeurs are not discouraged." "This site should NOT be termed Balmedie Beach which is NORTH of Aberdeen NOT south as stated. The area that is being described in A, is actually part of Nigg Bay which is also described in C, within Torry Point Battery details. Now Torry Point Battery is mainly used by courting couples so Doggers less than welcome, and I'm afraid by some of the local prostitutes and their punters, so again, they would not welcome Doggers as they themselves may feel threatened. However, that is not to say there is no action up here for a well hidden voyeur, in fact far from it! OK, but nowhere near the standard of Kingswells / Bieldside!"

B: Aberdeen, Cults / Kingwells - "Bieldside Woods have a nice car-park off main route (country road) between Cults and Kingswells, opposite some easily seen riding stables. The car-park is divided into three or four smaller sections, all bordering woods. During the day and early evening it is a 'family haven', dog walkers rather than Doggers abound!

From dusk in the winter however, and from 8.00pm to 9.00pm evenings in the summer, there is some good hetero activity to be witnessed, couples giving fine markers to their desire to being watched by internal lights being turned on, or headlights flashed, at PATIENT watchers who are not pushy.

I have witnessed and participated with two regular couples who put on good shows for two to three Doggers at a time, and when the adrenaline is pumping, windows and doors have been opened for clear audience participation, and in some cases, Doggers being invited IN! No evidence (yet) of gays, or Police presence, but exercise caution as the general public do use these woods a lot. Between 8.00pm and midnight NOW, from June thru' September, is the time for the action to start.

Well worth a visit, but PLEASE no pushy folks and don't expect too much too soon, us Aberdonians need some gentle persuasion to join in!"

"I can definitely verify Bieldside / Kingswells Woods - in fact I'm off there tonight to meet a couple I have been chatting to over e-mail for past week or so - I have limited experience of the other sites. I have only just moved up to Aberdeen as well, so am still 'finding my feet' with regards to the best local spots..."

C: Aberdeen, Duthie Park - "Duthie Park is an interesting place where some action happens. The reason I know this is because my girlfriend and myself visit and thoroughly enjoy putting on a show." But: "Been to Aberdeen regularly, tried park by the River Dee (Duthie Park, off Riverside Drive at King George IV Bridge) but never seen any hetero activity, just lots of gays sitting in cars and wandering off to the bushes together... ...very open from road, too exposed for my tastes, sorry!" "...This is a little open, public and the toilets are actively used (local press scandals abound about 'well known local businessmen' etc...) by gays as cottaging spot. Not too good on the dogging here either then! Good for gays I would imagine, as long as the Press and Journal don't get you first!"

D: Aberdeen, Torry Point Battery - Donk described the following locations in February 2000: "Torry Battery area any night about dusk 'til late or any car-park on the road to the rear of Hazelhead golf course. If you are brave try some of the places that The English Lady uses... ...hope to see you around!" And: "...try any parking areas along Greyhope Road out to the lighthouse and around Nigg Bay..."

E: Callander, Stirlingshire - "Located 15 miles NW of Stirling. Take the M9 from Stirling heading north, then onto the A84. As Callander is a favourite tourist spot it is very well signposted. Once you reach Callander head through the town centre. It is only one long street so you cannot go wrong. As you are about to leave the town centre you will see a river car-park to your left, sometimes there is a very small fairground there in summer. I spotted a couple parked right down close to the waters edge underneath the trees."

F: Fife, Loch Leven - "Try the car-park on south side of Loch Leven (off Motorway to Perth) just past Vane Farm bird sanctuary near Kinross... ...if no Doggers then watch the birds or the gliders (great excuse for binoculars!)..."

G: Fife, Tentsmuir Forest - "Tentsmuir Forest seems to be popular. Near St Andrews, halfway to Dundee..."

H: Inverness - Car-parks on the A9 both southbound and northbound about one mile north of Inverness (on the Black Isle, just over the new bridge) are the best places for local couples and you can sometimes get a good view, whether from exhibitionists or by accident (try the area behind the bushes in summer). You can walk from one car-park to the other, but driving to the south-bound area from Inverness requires that you do a U-turn just beyond the north-bound car-park, which can be very awkward. Behind the southbound car-park are (sometimes very muddy) woods and couples often go there for sex. Toilets also haunted by gays/Police at times, adverts on walls (graffiti) indicate gay sex sites throughout the Highlands (must be the tourist tea-room trade)." Another view: "...tried this with the good lady several times last year, but found zilch, though lots of evidence of gays... ...not such a good site!" "Several couples play here, on both sides of road, look out for swingers in a camper van..."
