MORFA DYFFREN - MID WALES

53. MORFA DYFFREN - MID WALES

Generally excellent reviews for this location, obviously a real winner! It's a nudist beach at Morfa Dyffren, about five miles north of Barmouth. Head for the Dyffren seaside estate just after Talybont and walk north up the beach until you come to a stone lookout building.

The blokes can be a little too much at times though. Last year we got watched in the car-park having sex in the grass, once by a couple and another time by a guy..."

"I've recently visited Morfa Dyffryn Beach, Gwynedd, which is about eight miles from Barmouth, which I found to be a great place for meeting exhibitionist couples."

Another correspondent said: "Morfa Dyffryn is situated on the West coast of Wales, about two hours drive from Manchester and the West Midlands. The beach is partly an unofficial naturist beach, and in the dunes behind this stretch of the beach is the place where most of the sexual activity occurs. The beach is off the A496 Barmouth to Harlech road about eight miles north of Barmouth. Between the villages of Talybont and Dyffryn Ardudwy turn seawards into Fford Benar Lane (signposted "Traeth" - Welsh for beach), a small chapel at this junction makes it easy to see. One mile down this very narrow (in places) lane are toilets and just beyond a free car-park, this has height barriers and is therefore unsuitable for van/campers etc. Follow the marked path through the dunes to the beach, turn right and walk for twenty-five minutes (average), the naturist beach is easily recognised by a WW2 pill box sticking out halfway up the dunes. This was exposed two years ago and recently looked to be in danger of falling onto the beach - KEEP CLEAR. Alternatively, use the (much nearer) car-park at the Dyffryn Seaside Estate. To reach this turn right at the toilets mentioned above and drive into the Seaside Estate, turn left at the mini roundabout, past the shops and pub, through the gate to park on the grass area at the rear of the dunes, follow the path to the beach, turn right for a fifteen minute walk. It is slightly quicker to walk through the dunes but not recommended for first time visitors - easy to get lost. The Seaside Estate sometimes charge £1.00 for access but usually only in the high season. Morfa Dyffryn beach itself is ENORMOUS, even the part used by naturists is about one mile in length - and to the rear of that are hundreds of acres of dunes and scrubland between the beach and the airfield. All of this can be and is used by naturists and swingers/exhibitionists. The main beach is used by families, couples and singles. Under no circumstances should anyone attempt any kind of sexual activity on the beach itself (except maybe voyeurism). Because the beach is unofficially naturist there is considerable local hostility to the naturists who use it; this means that what I would call "true naturists" tend to police the beach and will have no hesitation in ejecting those they deem to be behaving inappropriately. They don't mind what goes on in the dunes above and behind the beach, but the beach itself is a no go area. The dunes to the northern part are gay orientated and the dunes to the immediate rear of the main beach are used by couples and single men. The beach is a great place to hang out. A popular pastime amongst couples is performing for each other on distant dunes and watching the other couples response through binoculars. Best time for this kind of action is in the afternoon between 2.00pm and 6.00pm. There are a great many "clothed" people who wander through the dunes, some of whom are very young indeed; the teenagers who do this are just fooling around, but a lot of pleasure could be had here by exhibitionist males as some of the women who come through are often initially surprised to find themselves amongst naturists, having approached the beach through the dunes at the rear. The teenage girls usually run through the dunes looking at all the men while screaming their heads off! Great fun! I was there three days in early August and each day there were at least two couples performing. One woman even blew some of the men who gathered to watch. I would advise anyone visiting the beach to dispense with their clothes as soon as they reach the naturist beach (take a bag and towels etc to sit on), otherwise you will tend to stick out like a sore thumb. I was told by some of the people I spoke to that there is always a lot of activity at night, particularly at weekends and bank-holidays, though I would suspect this is very much dependent on the weather given the location of the dunes. All in all, a great place to visit."

"Don't know if this is on your list but we have had some fun times here. Walk north up beach from Dyffren seaside estate which is situated nr Talybont about five miles from Barmouth. Nudist area starts from old lookout shelter (about half a mile walk). The dunes are usually reserved for adult activities but the beach can get action when everyone else has gone home. We were there on 25 July and had sex in on the beach at about 7.30pm behind our wind protector while another couple did the same about 40 yards away watching us watching them!"
