WISLEY (OCKHAM COMMON) - M25 J10

48. WISLEY (OCKHAM COMMON) - M25 J10

A: "Another famous dogging site which has perhaps seen better days, on the A3 just south of M25 interchange (Gail's Diner is a well-known local landmark). Follow the signposts for the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Gardens, but keep going, after a few turns there is a car-park on the right hand side. There is a very large picnic area set into woods approached by first turn on left, some car-parks (mostly gay) see also the woods for group action. Sometimes there are over two hundred cars here..."

"Sadly, a young prostitute's body was found in the woods here on 2/6/99 (they got the arsehole that did it, sent him down good and proper), which may well lead to considerable Police involvement in the near future, so please take care! Wisley has recently been reported to be "shut at night", possibly because of the sad events noted above, but there are lots of other ways in to them woods even if the main car-park is shut!" "Denny and other half were down from London and said Wisley now partly open again. I think J10 M25 (check that first). When you see the Coke machine (on the Portsmouth road, the A3) in the lay-by go on come off that road and come back on yourself back towards the M25 and any entrance on your left, let us all know how you get on..."

B: Ockham Common/Wisley - "The only reliable place we know is Ockham Common (known as 'Wisley') in Surrey, though many people will tell you about this one. Yes, it's true that Ockham Common is mainly frequented by single guys and gays, although some couples do get there occasionally. Late afternoon and early evenings are the best time. We've had the occasional fuck there. It's quite amazing how guys appear as if by magic to watch and wank (it might be useful to point out to people that the car-parks shut at 6.00pm, but you can park in one of the lay-bys next to the A3 and walk in.)" "Go south on the A3 for half a mile from where the M25 crosses it. There is a lay-by and immediately after a country lane. Turn there and into the car-park. It is very large and surrounded by forest on three sides. It is supposed to be a picnic area but is almost exclusively used by gays (in one part of the car-park) and by couples in the other. All the cars there are aware of activity . At night there are as many as fifty or sixty cars..." "...The lake across the road is also a good place to go. It's best to walk alongside the A3 south until you reach a small pathway which takes you around the south end of it, and back up towards the car-park. Lots of fishermen on a weekend, and it's not too difficult to find single guys who want to watch. We visited this place one night at about 8.00pm. The gates to the picnic areas / car-parks were being locked by a (non-resident) security guard. The gates have a sign which says that they are locked at 6.00pm. There are some toilets which were locked with lighting outside. The lay-by and the surrounding trees were dark, very dark, very very dark! - watch out for the ditch! There were a few cars parked in the lay-by, all of which contained single men." "Plenty of car-park activity at night all year round. Woodlands and side of lake popular with straights and occasional exhibitionists all summer. Check out second car-park further down road. Usually some Doggers around. No warden but regular Police patrols. Reports of threesomes and couples swapping." "...kids and flash cars before 1.00am, serious flashers after 2.00am most Friday and Saturday nights..."

"Four locations under one grouping. Join the A3 going northbound and as soon as you've joined it then turn left signposted Wisley Village and Wisley Gardens. The gardens are lovely during the day! Firstly just past the entrance to the gardens on your left, there is an unmade parking space on the right. Secondly, follow this road on and after half a mile there is another parking space on the right (also unmade). Third, just past the Wisley Village sign there is a car-park on the right. This tends to be locked at nights but *not* all the time! Finally, on driving back to the A3, as you turn left onto the A3 again there is a lay-by on the left with a bus stop in it. The first three of these four attract couples and guys seeking couples. The latter one attracts couples at times but mainly gay guys, especially the truckers. Continue up the A3 back towards the M25 junction. Take the slip road off the A3 for the M25. On the left is a small lay-by and just past it a signpost for the lorry park. This is not used anymore and the actual lorry park is closed off. However, couples tend to get to the end of this track and for a bit of privacy around the corner and down the sandy unmade track. A couple of hundred yards down is a small parking area on the left. We've met and 'entertained' several couples here on warm and summery nights! One of our favourite spots."

"As you head south onto the A3, the first exit is signposted 'Semaphore Tower'. Take this sharp turn and immediately turn left into the car-park/picnic area. During the day this site has an open cafe and toilets. It also is an area for dog-walking and picnics. During the hours of darkness it is mainly locked by a local security company - but sometimes it is left open. It is a large car-park with lots of hideaways and secluded areas. If it's open, couples tend to be in the main area and gay guys meet in the 'lower' smaller car-park. Our experience is that 'flashing', 'picking-up' and 'two-couple meets' all go on here. If anything very sensual is occurring its normally on the sloping hillside at the BACK of the car-park towards the right of Gayles Diner. Again, if open, cruised occasionally by the Police."

"Been here MANY times and have yet to find anything hetero. Granted, I am mostly there during the afternoons and early evenings, but in my experience it seems to be mainly gay/bi. There are three distinct areas here - two on the south-bound side of the A3 and one on the north-bound side, just before the lay-by, past Wisley Gardens. Which of these places is the best for couples? By the look of it, it is the north-bound side, but I have nothing to prove that yet. The car-parks themselves are locked at night (6.30pm during the winter and 9.00pm during the summer), but there is some talk that a local has a key to the padlocks and normally unlocks the gates every night. I myself have yet to see them locked, so there may be some truth in that..."

"Went to Wisley @ 11.00pm - 11.30pm last night.. ...five or six hopeful Doggers, no scent of action..."

C: Okham/Wisley, Farm Track - "This is an area where couples take anyone or other couples for a bit of privacy. Worth checking out from time to time - you'd be surprised what you may find! Exit from Okham Common and turn left into the access road. Follow this road away from the A3 for about a mile and a bit, passing a public house at a crossroads. After a couple of sharp corners the road goes downhill. On the left hand side is an unmade track (signposted wargames and paintballing). At the top of this track is a rough car-park - although in reality this is probably a farmer's private property! Tends to be couples only, gay and bi guys tend to stay away..." "...Took a look at this place one afternoon - looks to me like the car-park belongs to the paintballing company, but it is very quiet and secluded so maybe something happens during the night. The directions above are fairly accurate, however the signpost does *not* specifically mention paintballing or wargames. There is a sign (rather battered) that says something about car stereo systems installed, etc..."

D: Okham/Wisley, Elm Corner & Airfield - "Head back from the above to the A3, turn left onto the slip road and join the A3 going southbound. Take the next dead-end exit - signposted Elm Corner. At the top of this road are the gates for the old airfield. We have seen couples putting on 'shows' here and also parking up and walking onto the airfield (disused). Anyone tends to head to the right away from the road. Alternatively, bear left and head past several private houses to the end of the road. Couples and 'guests' are sometimes found in the woods on the left hand side. Tends to be couples and single guys only. Gay and bi guys stay away we find..." "...Seems to well known as the times I have been there, there have been a couple of cars there..."

E: Okham/Wisley, The Greenhouses - "Exit from Okham onto A3, head southbound (only way you can go!). Exit at the next exit and 'U' turn under the A3 at the roundabout. On the approach to the A3 northbound entry slip, turn left. This has a signpost for a Golf Club. Follow this road along to the end, bear left and drive slowly as it's deceptive! On the right is a large greenhouse complex and a concrete parking area in front of it. Occasionally couples wait here to pick up single guys or put on shows."

F: Effingham - "Wisley... ...have tried late evenings during the week 10.00-10.30pm and early Saturday evening (6.00pm) but no real luck. I guess that the weather now will be having an effect..." However, Steve2 wrote on 4/9/99: "Wisley was quite busy last night... ...both car-parks just south of M25, first turning left (signposted Effingham) some dogging but only gay participation. Further down this road, guy with wife in camper van available..."
