3. BEDFORDSHIRE - GENERAL
A: Barton - "Up the A6 past Barton, turn left at pub. Go up the road for two miles, follow track on left for one mile. Often flashing/swapping on Friday/Saturday nights (midnight)."
B: Bedford, RAF Chicksands - "Off the A600 Bedford to Shefford road in Bedfordshire. Approaching from Bedford, take the right turn to what was RAF Chicksands. About two hundred and fifty yards on the left is a car-park which a number of pull-ins. It looks ideal! Whilst I was there a couple parked and went straight into the wood... ...which with plenty of paths and ferns for cover looks ideal for fun."
C: Brogborough - "Very close to J13 of the M1 on the A421 travelling in the direction of Bedford from the Motorway. It is predominantly (but not exclusively) used by gays. On entering the site drive up the service road and keep going past the entrance to the site proper. At the end of the service road is a path leading straight on. Take this, and on the left are fields, on the right are woods. Both sides are used for sex..." and: "...I have had many an enjoyable evening with my wife, displaying from the safety of our car and for the benefit of lots of voyeurs at a place called Brogborough picnic site. It can be found off the M1 at J13. If you are heading northbound as we are as you leave the M1 turn towards Bedford and about half a mile on the left nearly at the top of the hill there is a left turn into a picnic site. We have seen several other couples there as well as various gay men. It seems a discreet place although it is checked regularly by the Police they only seem to be interested in the gay men and do no more to couples other than to ask if everything is okay." "Does anyone know if couples visit this site? Have visited several times in the last few weeks but only single guys. For those who do not know the site, it's just off J13 of the M1, so quite close to Milton Keynes." "Went to the woods behind the picnic site at Brogborough yesterday afternoon. Several gays enjoying sucking each other off, but no women around. Does anyone know if couples use this place? It seems ideal, as it is by the M1 and five miles south of Milton Keynes..."
D: Buckden - "Grafham Water near Buckden, just off the A1 is an excellent site. I meet a couple there regularly, and show with girlfriend. Never been disturbed by Police. The east car-park is the best as the west car-park is mostly gays (the west has toilets, the east is near a model farm). It really is highly recommended, secluded especially after dark."
"This reservoir has a number of car-parks/picnic areas around it, accessed on the B661 west of the A1 from Buckden roundabout. I am told that these might be used, but as yet have no positive sightings, they certainly look 'right' however."
E: Dunstable - "Dunstable Downs car-park between Dunstable and Studham is very good in early evenings."
F: Sandy - "East of Sandy on B1042 road to Potton, at "The Locomotive" pub, turn left (north) into a narrow road past Deepdale Water Gardens. This leads into woods adjacent to the entrance to Sandy Heath TV mast. Beyond here the track continues as a bridle-way through to the Sandy to Everton road. Some maps show this as a public road all the way, but I doubt this! The bridle-way section at the north end is often used for discreet daytime meetings, I have seen a number of two car meets here although have not pursued this further yet."
