HAMPSHIRE - GENERAL

19. HAMPSHIRE - GENERAL

A: 100 Acres Wood, Wickham - "Coming the other way ie on the Wickham to Havant road from Wickham eastwards, about one mile east of Wickham, take first left marked "100 Acres" and some one mile on the left turn into Forestry Commission car-park. Many cars at night and good screening cover of trees between cars. Many good sights seen including three extreme happenings. I have flashed both my ex-wife and a girlfriend here on several occasions with good results."

A second opinion: "On the Wickham to Havant road in Portsmouth, the best place seems to be the track just by the pub that leads past the ford, rather than the car-park a few hundred yards past. There were quite a few cars with couples in them, but I was too nervous (first time voyeur!) to try watching, although it was obvious that some were having sex and it wasn't even dusk..."

And also, on a less positive note: "I've tried this and it seems to be purely a gay area. The Police also seem to make a point of driving around the car-park after dark... ...not a good place." "The entry you have for "100 Acres" near Wickham is now incorrect. The car-parks there are now locked at dusk and have been for a long time now (two years?). If anything happens, it will be in daylight but I have never seen anything." "This car-park is now locked at 8.00pm. I do not know when this started as I only went there yesterday for the first time."

"Further to the entries you have of the above area, there is a car-park opposite Fort Nelson, the one with the big cannons outside and open to the public, which is what the car-parks are for during the day. I am surprised at the mention of the other two as this one is far more popular and secluded. Lights can be seen entering the car-park before they can see you. Southampton Common (Cemetery Road) is still being used by a couple of couples even though it is predominantly gay, but in my experience, the two always go together. I still go there occasionally with the wife (maybe we have met sometime in the last God knows how many years)." "Try Fort Nelson car-park at the top of Portsdown Hill..."

B: Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth - "There's a viewpoint picnic area on the top of Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth, every night it's chock-a-block with cars full of bonking couples! Many cars park here at dusk and some couples get out for a stroll..." "...This is just off the main Havant - Wickham road about one mile west of the A3 and there is a track off to the right a few hundred yards past "The Churchillian" pub. Beware other couples in cars who may spot the devout voyeur." "Royal Armouries car-park... ...loads of watchers and players most afternoons..."

C: Ringwood, Avon Heath Country Park - "At St Leonards, just off the A31 coast road. Also a couple of smaller car-parks in Boundary Lane which runs round the back of the park. This apparently was an extremely active site a year or two back, but is a bit quieter nowadays. Couples often go here with the female either putting on a show or up for fun with other guys." Many good reports: "We've investigated this spot and found two possible places for fun (we went mid afternoon so there were too many families about). Travelling west along the A31, just past Ringwood ignore the turning for Bournemouth and carry straight on the A31 (under the underpass) for about half a mile. At the first roundabout turn left into the main car-park."

"The public toilets have various messages arranging meets etc. This car-park is very large and very open but there are woods all around (I suppose that's why it is a 'country park')."

"There is another smaller, more secluded car-park. It is also situated on the A31, just before the roundabout - I guarantee you'll miss it, we did, twice!!! If you do, just double back along the dual carriageway."

"Probably the best known place in the UK for couples. I've been there a few times but have yet to see anything other than Doggers wandering around. The only time I've tried in the dark was on a Thursday night, but I had to leave at 11.30pm so maybe it was too early. From other people, I have heard that it is a little *cliquey* and new Doggers are not made to feel particularly welcome by the regular band.

"I have to agree that Ringwood is the still the favourite although we have found it tends to get very cliquey among the regulars. When I am with the wife, we are obviously very welcome, but I have had occasion to feel very unwelcome there when on my own and not recognised. I have almost felt like saying "Stuff 'em!" and stop going there with the wife. But it is only the minority."

"Ringwood, north of Bournemouth, has Avon Forest Park, always a good audience there..."

"...ok hubby and i are going to be out on wednesday at avon heath park, let us know if anyone else is going to be, it will be worth it, i am shaved and you are going to get one hell of a view, maybe even to join in..."

"...Avon Forest, Ringwood... ...A31 from Ringwood towards Wimborne, first roundabout, turn left into Avon go right to the end of the car-park..." "Avon Country Park is easy to get to - as you pass Ringwood, carry straight through till you get to the roundabout with the flashing speed lights, go off left and right up to the top. Just park, watch, and be patient - it's either running or not..." "...Slipped out to Avon Forest to see if there was any action tonight but the Police were driving round and round the car-park. Saw one couple in a yellow Renault who looked as if they might be interested but they too were spooked by the law and left..." (Elm)

Optic wrote: "...had an exelent weekend at avon country park, via friday night an briliant bit of stuff in a yellow megane took loads of us on, What said in the Doggers Guide about avon park was true, but i must add thing have some what changed The infamouse Ian in hiding still to some unsavory event that long past now and his crew no longer frequent the place There is a new, much friendlier crowd frequent there now and its good..." "...might be worth u making the trip to avon country park tommorrow night near ringwood as you come up the a31 it is counting te coach house motel rounerbout the fourth rouderbout st ives rounderbout (The little chef rounderbout known localy), coming from ring wood, its the rounderbout with the flashing slow down lights on the aproach go right up in right to the top,. lets have little talking. I hate it talking when blokes have to talk to couples about curtains washing machines and there gardens, and then the blokes talk to each other and run everybody in site down verbaly, because its everyman out for himself. everyone so nasty, we are having a look at theone near linwood tommorow night as well..." Er, yes Optic, we know what you mean...

D: Ringwood, Matchams View - Car-park.

E: Ringwood, Moor Valley Country Park - "Between Ringwood and Trickets Cross... ...very good!!!!!

F: Shirley Heights, near Croydon - "Good for couples and gays. And famous for 80s gang-bangs." "The most notorious spot in the SE in the 70s and 80s. Swapping, threesomes, shows, and gang-bangs so rife, straights used to avoid it. Busted several times resulting in much publicity. Organised teams of Doggers, regular Police patrols and covert surveillance. Not what it was but still used, with participation often invited. Care and a good cover story needed. Car-park activity most nights woods and park used a lot in summer..." "Directions: Take the A232 road out of Croydon, heading for West Wickham. Just after the John Whitgift Trinity School (on your right) go over the roundabout into Upper Shirley Road. Go up the hill and into Shirley Hills Road (it's the same road). At the top of hill look for road leading off to the right into some tall pines, sheltering two car-parks. If you miss this you'll reach a busy junction with the A212, so turn back, go past the first slip road with a water tower on it and the track you want is now on the left, a few yards further along." "On a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday there is always a couple of cars with couples parked up at the hills. They never seem to mind a viewer and I have had a couple of fucks and quite a few blowjobs. I am under 40 and that seems to help a bit. The main problem as you have said I wish more Doggers would take just a bit more care, as soon as something gets taken off, you end up with half dozen people crowded around the car and if the Old Bill drive in, it's all over before it really began..."

G. Winchester - "In a large set back lay-by on the northbound side of the A31 (A33?) just north of Winchester, but the place is mainly used as a gay pick up place."

H: Another Optic site: "...Take the turn of to the red shoot of the ringwood salisbury road. well you turn of at the sign that says linwood follow the road right down till you go over the little bridge go over the bridge and follow the road around till you get to the next sign for linwood at a funny junction affair . instead of taking the linwood road go straight on the car park. is up around on the left..."
